Kinders Using the Mini Dells

LP is watching AR work on the computer.
BE is busy counting ants...
Hmmm... I wonder how many ants are on the ant hill?
CO is showing BE how to play a counting game on the new mini Dell computer.

Sometimes 3 heads are better than one when you're trying to figure out a new game on the computer.

Night Sky

Don't miss the show! This year's Leonid Meteor Shower should be especially cool - churning out 500 shooting stars an hour due to the Earth's central location in the ancient comet's pebbly wake. No binoculars needed. The best nights for viewing are November 17-18. Let's hope for clear skies.

Ant Farm

BE and CO just fed the ants in our ant farm a piece of apple - the ants seem to like apples better than carrots.

Cove Weather Station

This is our new weather station. You can go to our home page and click on current weather to find out the temperature, barometric pressure, wind speed, and humidity. We're excited because you can see it when you look out our kindergarten window. It's especially fun to watch the anemometer spin as it measures wind speed. K-1 travels to Australia on Monday and we're going to compare the weather in Cove to the weather in Sydney, Australia. Our Australia unit will last through the holidays and into the new year - it's a big continent with lots of interesting people and animals.

Sugar Pop

Meet Sugar Pop, our guinea pig. He was born last spring and he even had a broken leg when he was a baby! He loves to eat carrots and other vegetables. He turns his nose up when we try to feed him celery! Can you find him hidden in the block structure?

We built Sugar Pop a fantastic building out of blocks - it has a long, long tunnel and a gate that slides open.

Kindergarten Math Tubs

Kindergarten math is very "hands-on" and we love it! Children use many different manipulatives in our K-2 Bridges in Mathematics program published by Math Learning Center. Take a look at all the happy faces busy doing MATH... it is one of our favorite times in the day.
CV and her amazing geoband design!
Is it a star? A snowflake?

Spin and Cut, just spin, find the correct number and cut out the shape! AR loves Spin and Cut.
BE and CO are playing Spin and Cut.
"I love this game. What number did you get? I got a heart and it's a seven!"
QD is building with polydron pieces - he's using triangles and squares.
KB and BT are making amazing structures with the polydrons.

We love pattern blocks!
RB and BB made the pattern blocks go all the way around the table.

Pumpkin Carving in Kindergarten

I love my pumpkin.
RB is getting all the seeds and pulp out.
Hmmm... which pumpkin do you like?
JD loves her jack-o-lantern.
It's CV and the great pumpkin!

KR is watching carefully as her 8th grade
buddy helps her with her pumpkin.

BT is scooping out his pumpkin.
