Cove School had several students who were moved to help Haiti after their devastating earthquake. Griffin Flemming challenged the elementary school to a contest to raise money for Haitian relief. Our elementary school raised $537.00 in one weeks time. First graders won the ice cream party by bringing in approximately $93.00 with kinders a close second. Our kindergarten class brought $90.78 to school to help the people of Haiti. All proceeds went to the organization "Help Haiti Now". Thanks Griff!

Boomerangs

KR and AP are painting their "roomerangs" with dots in the Aboriginal style. A "roomerang" can be thrown indoors without breaking Mom's best lamp!

JD is really concentrating on her dots.

CO, QD, and BE are all working on their boomerang designs. Did you know that we got to try throwing a real boomerang? It's hard to get it to come back to you.

Devin Plays Digeridoo

EOU student, DF came to our K-1 classrooms and played the digeridoo. The digeridoo is an Aborigine instrument made from a hollowed out eucalyptus tree. DF shared two of them that he made while going to school in Australia.

DF is playing a digeridoo that he made while in Australia. He could make it sound like a kangaroo, a koala, or any animal that our students could name... even a woodpecker!
