Can you find our pumpkin? He smells!
Wednesday, November 24, 2010
The Cove kinders went to the Thanksgiving Friendship feast as Indians. The first graders were the pilgrims and our guests were our fifth grade book buddies. We met in a huge circle in the old gym, told what we were thankful for and sang the "Johnny Appleseed Song" and "Open, Shut Them", a new song that LP and KR taught us. Then we enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal of stone soup, fruit salad, rolls, butter (we made it ourselves!), and pumpkin pie cake. And don't forget the popcorn - the Indians at the first Thanksgiving also shared popcorn with the pilgrims.

What Do You Predict?
We predict our pumpkin will rot...grow...decay-it decomposes...get rotten...crinkle up...smell gross...grow really big, tall...smell pumpkiny-gross...smell rotten...turn gray and icky...turn green...stay orange...go black and gray...be gross, sticky, icky, and you couldn't even see the eyes...gray on the inside, outside will start to rot... Now, what do you predict?
Red Ribbon Week
Cove students are learning about drug prevention this week. It is the senior project of FH. We are learning that red means we are drug free. Kinders have worn red shirts, ribbons, socks, scarves, and hats this week. We've printed our red handprint on a poster for the hallway and taken part in a coloring contest.
