Missoula Children's Theatre MAKE-UP WORKSHOP

AD is chosen to put on corrective make-up.  Everyone who is in movies or on TV wears corrective make-up, even our president.

Dana tells us that actresses wear corrective make-up so they don't look bleeck!

AD looks beautiful.

Now, KM becomes a pirate, first the beard.  Ivory put his beard on with a sponge!

ARRGH... it's Pirate KM.

Notice his bushy eyebrows.  I almost didn't recognize him!

The next make-up technique the MCT actresses showed us was character make-up.

NS is being transformed into a fox.

She is a FOX!

First JN gets red face paint.  I thought he was going to become a clown.  But, oh no, much better than that!  This is the same make-up that clowns use though.

Baby powder keeps the make-up from rubbing off.

It's Spiderman!  Every boy in the room wished they were JN!

Spiderman with the fox.

Next, we get to see special effects make-up so the boys have their backs to the audience.  We can't see what's happening to their faces... or is it their faces?

TF is getting special make-up.

Dana talks about all the lines on our faces that appear as we get older; on our foreheads, the crowsfeet around our eyes, and the lines around our mouths.

It's Mr. F when he's an old man!

Ouch, what happened?!?

The special effects make-up really works - it looks so realistic!

CW thinks it's the best make-up of all but I think LP is a little worried about him!
Don't miss the performance by our own Cove students in The Wiz of the West on Friday, March 16 at 3:00 and 5:30.  The cost is $3.00 for students and $5.00 for adults.  Come and support the arts!

Dr. Seuss FUN!

Mr. Gorham started the week out by reading The Cat in the Hat.  We had a week of fun-filled activities with Dr. Seuss and friends.  Thank you to everyone who helped to make this a special week by taking time out to read to us.  We loved having you here at school.

High school senior, KG reads One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish in the library.

I Wish I Had Duck Feet read by high school senior, CJR.

I think those senior boys have our attention - nothing quite like a good Dr. Seuss book!

JS and OG enjoy the Dr. Seuss story.

It's the DOG from Go, Dog, Go!

EW's Dad reads us If I Ran the Circus.  It was his favorite Dr. Seuss book when he was a boy.

We like it too!

It's a Sneetch (you can't see his star upon thar!) and the Cat in the hat.

The Lorax sitting in front of a truffula tree.

Oobleck...

Roll it...

Stretch it...

Roll it some more...

Make it longer and longer and longer...

RM's is as tall as he is!

Oobleck is awesome stuff but I'm glad it doesn't fall from the sky in Cove!

NS's Grandma came to school and read us Are You My Mother? by PD Eastman.

Mr. Clark reads a favorite Dr. Seuss book to our K-1 group.

Another Day in Kindergarten

RM is helping the boys make their ocean wave bottles.  KB is adding glitter to make the waves in his bottle sparkle.

OG and GD like their wave bottles... and each other!

Two friends...

We love "Elephant and Piggie" books.  KM reads one to EW and JS.

OG is rolling paint onto bubble wrap to make an oceany effect on poster board.

NS rolls more paint on bubble wrap!

EW's finished work.

The girls are busy writing a fancy alphabet.

Check out this link to "Green Eggs and Ham" by two of our high school students.
We LOVE it!
